Our Work in Oregon

One in three Americans currently report symptoms of depression and anxiety, and the problem is especially acute in Oregon. For some people, including those with conditions like treatment-resistant depression, psilocybin therapy could provide significant relief.

Oregon’s Groundbreaking Psilocybin Program

A carefully regulated, step-by-step process for rolling out psilocybin services:

  • Oregon’s Ballot Measure 109, passed by voters in 2020, established a robust regulatory framework to be administered by the Oregon Health Authority, the state agency responsible for psilocybin services.

  • In the two years following the measure’s passage, the Governor-appointed Psilocybin Advisory Board created rules and recommendations on the safety and efficacy of psilocybin, and guidelines for facilitators and service centers.

  • Now that the program has launched, Oregon has established a training and licensure system for facilitators, service centers, psilocybin manufacturers and testing laboratories, as well as a tracking system for all psilocybin products.

  • Applications for licensure are available through the Oregon Health Authority.

What We Do

  • Advocate for regulations that create a state psilocybin program that is of high quality, accessible, and maximizes safety

  • Educate stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, and the general public on the Oregon psilocybin program

  • Support psilocybin service centers, training schools, and facilitators in getting off the ground with technical assistance, learning collaboratives, and high-quality programming

  • Serve as a convener for the Oregon psilocybin ecosystem to collaboratively address goals and challenges, organize around shared needs, deliver services to high standards and best practices, and create a vibrant network of psilocybin care  that will serve as a model for the world

Get Involved

We are building new programs to support stakeholder groups—starting with service centers, training programs, and facilitators—that will make psilocybin care possible for Oregonians. This support includes access to high-quality technical assistance and programming, and coordinates stakeholders around shared goals and challenges.

“I was a Navy SEAL for 18½ years, and I was medically retired for PTSD. It made every facet of my life difficult. Psilocybin helped me become more present and start living fully again.”
